MOVING THE BOUNDARIES OF SAFETY AT SEA, DRIVING PROGRESS

The EXOS 2024 project to prevent collisions at sea was born in response to a call for expressions of interest launched by the IMOCA class and the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique cluster to improve the safety of sailors in the run-up to the next Vendée Globe 2024. Our teams are working with Sea.Ai and ENSTA Bretagne to develop a solution to automatically detect, identify and avoid obstacles in order to reduce the risk of collisions at sea. Our expertise in data fusion and systems automation means that we can play a key role in the emergence of a solution that can go from detection to automated instructions to the autopilot for obstacle avoidance. So taking on this challenge was an obvious choice for us. It's also a fantastic opportunity to work alongside some of the world's leading players in advancing safety at sea. 

 

FIBRE OPTIC TECHNOLOGY GETS RICHER

Our teams are taking part in the CAFCA project, the aim of which is to develop a new generation of fibre optic sensors based on Bragg gratings (FBGs). The aim is to develop a solution for simultaneously measuring variations in temperature and deformation in composite structures. This is an ambitious research and development project, the results of which will have a decisive impact on the aeronautical, space and maritime sectors.

 

OUR SPIRIT OF INNOVATION TO MEET YOUR CHALLENGES

We support our customers by helping them to meet their challenges. Many of them rhyme with speed. And we know how to respond, whether on racing yachts or prototypes like the SP80, Syrocco or Zephir. It's worth noting that our autopilot solution holds the 24-hour monohull speed record (Imoca Malizia in The Ocean Race in 2023).
